The Town of Windsor is a member of the Madison Area Municipal Storm Water Partnership (17 central Dane County municipalities, Dane County and UW–Madison), which submitted a storm water discharge permit to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Rather than applying for the permit individually, these municipal entities joined forces to save time, money and resources. Their web site, www.myfairlakes.com, has a plethora of information on how citizens’ daily activities can have a positive impact on Dane County’s water resources.

NOTICE
TOWN OF WINDSOR RESIDENTS

THE TOWN OF WINDSOR BOARD AND STAFF WOULD LIKE TO MAKE ALL OUR CITIZENS AWARE OF A STATE WEBSITE THAT WE FEEL IS IMPORTANT FOR YOU AND THE PROTECTION OF YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

THE TOWN BOARD AT A RECENT TOWN MEETING DISCUSSED REGISTERED SEX OFFENDERS AND THE PROCESS THAT TAKES PLACE UPON THEIR RELEASE BACK INTO THE PUBLIC.

CURRENTLY WHEN A SEX OFFENDER IS RELEASED INTO THE PUBLIC SECTOR, THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS NOTIFIES THE LOCAL SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT. AT THAT TIME, THE LEVEL OF NOTIFICATION TO THE PUBLIC IS DETERMINED BASED ON THE LEVEL OF THE CRIME THAT WAS COMMITTED.

AT THAT POINT, YOU MIGHT BE MADE AWARE OF THE SEX OFFENDER THAT IS RELEASED INTO OUR AREA OR YOU MIGHT NOT BE. IT IS ALL BASED UPON THE LEVEL OF CRIME THAT WAS COMMITTED.

AT THE TOWN OF WINDSOR, WE FEEL IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE OUR RESIDENTS AWARE OF INFORMATION THAT AFFECTS YOUR LIFE ON A DAY-TO-DAY BASIS. THIS IS NOT MEANT TO ALARM ANYONE JUST ALERT TOWN RESIDENTS AND LET THE PUBLIC KNOW THAT THERE IS A STATE WEBSITE FOR YOU TO MONITOR.

WEBSITE: http://offender.doc.state.wi.us/public/

PLEASE CALL THE TOWN OFFICE IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS AT 846-3854.
